Club Profile

The Tallwood Men’s Club is an organization of 230+ avid golfers that began in 1970.

Since that time our club has grown and established many traditions at Tallwood Country Club.

The club is run by a Board of Directors that meets monthly throughout the year. Club business is transacted at two general membership meetings during the year. These meetings are held in the evening at Tallwood and all members are encouraged to attend.

Our annual schedule spans 35+ weeks and we run 70+ weekend tournaments. Some of these tournaments are classified as Major Tournaments where “Golfer of the Year” points are awarded.

In addition to our standard and major tournaments, we also run some very popular Social Events. Our Member-Guest has been an annual favorite.

Social Events

In addition to our regular tournaments, the Social Committee runs several exciting tournaments over the course of the year. These tournaments usually have a dinner afterward (except for the Spring & Fall Classics). They are:

Scotch Ball I – Member & Female Partner
Member Guest – 2 Man BB
Parent-Child – Member & Family Relative

Tournaments

Regular Tournaments

On a weekly basis we typically run a Gross / Net tournament. At times variations such as Best 16, 2 Man Best Ball are run. The tournament schedule is printed on a wallet size card and is also available on the website. Several of our Major Tournaments and Season Long tournament winners are also awarded trophies at our Year End Celebration.

Major Tournaments

Our major tournament schedule occurs over the course of the year. It is made up of individual and team events where “Golfer of the Year” (GOTY) points are awarded. The following tournaments are classified as majors:

Mother’s Day - Individual
Match Play I – Team
Memorial Tournament-Individual
Father’s Day-Individual
Club Championship-Individual
Member/Member-Team
President’s Cup – Individual
Match Play II – Team

In addition to the above tournaments the social committee runs the Year End Celebration where trophies are presented and you can bring your significant other out for a nice dinner and dancing.
